Our Story

Arizona Overlanders was born out of a simple obsession: getting off the pavement and into the wild places that make this state so extraordinary. Long before we ever rented out a single rig, our founders were spending weekends and long holiday breaks chasing sunsets down forest service roads outside Flagstaff, threading through slot canyons near Sedona, and camping under some of the darkest, most star-filled skies in the American Southwest. Every trip taught us something new about what a rig actually needs to hold up to Arizona's terrain, from the volcanic rock trails of the White Mountains to the soft sand washes of the Sonoran Desert. After years of building, breaking, fixing, and rebuilding our own overland vehicles, friends and coworkers kept asking the same question: how can we do what you're doing without spending years and thousands of dollars building a rig from scratch? That question became our mission. We started Arizona Overlanders, based right here in Chandler, Arizona, to give everyday adventurers, first-time campers, seasoned off-roaders, out-of-state visitors, and everyone in between access to fully built, trail-ready overland vehicles without the learning curve, the upfront investment, or the garage full of spare parts. Today, our fleet of Toyota Tacomas, 4Runners, and Lexus GX460s is outfitted the same way we'd build a rig for ourselves: rooftop tents for sleeping anywhere the trail takes you, recovery gear for when the terrain gets technical, dual battery systems and fridge and freezer units for longer trips off the grid, and all-terrain tires ready for everything from graded forest roads to rockier 4x4 trails. Whether you're planning a weekend loop through the Superstition Mountains, a multi-day traverse of the Arizona backcountry, or your very first night sleeping under the stars in the high desert, we build every reservation around one goal: helping you experience Arizona the way it's meant to be seen, without needing to own or build a rig yourself.
